Betsy Bird<\/span><\/span><\/strong> is the youth materials collections specialist for the New York Public Library and the author of Giant Dance Party<\/em>, illustrated by Brandon Dorman. She has also written a\u00a0non-fiction text for library students, called Children’s Literature Gems: Choosing and Using Them in Your Library Career<\/em>. <\/span>In addition to writing for The Horn Book<\/em>, she is the creator of the blog A Fuse #8 Production<\/a><\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0Betsy was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and now lives with her family in New York City.<\/p>\n

\nJulie Danielson<\/span><\/span><\/strong> is a regular contributor to Kirkus Reviews<\/em> and BookPage<\/em> and has also written for The Horn Book<\/em>. At\u00a0her blog, Seven Impossible Things Before Breakfast<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, she has featured and\/or interviewed hundreds of picture-book creators. Julie, who lives with her family in Tennessee, also teaches picture books as a Lecturer for the School of Information Sciences’ graduate program at the University of Tennessee, where she got her library degree in 2002.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Peter D. Sieruta<\/span><\/span><\/strong> was an author, book critic, and frequent reviewer for The Horn Book<\/em>. He wrote young adult fiction in his lifetime and contributed to several reference books in the field of children’s literature. His blog, Collecting Children’s Books<\/em><\/a><\/strong>, served as a major inspiration for Wild Things!<\/em> Sadly, Peter passed away in 2012, though all his contributions to Wild Things!<\/em> had been completed.\u00a0He was a relatively private person, but Betsy and Julie love this (older) picture of him and want to share it here.<\/p>\n
